We celebrate water baptism as a public step of faith, symbolizing new life in Christ. We walk alongside each person, offering encouragement and prayer as they take this meaningful step.

Last Sunday of Each Month
On the last Sunday of each month, we host a Family Movie Night at 5 p.m. — a relaxed and welcoming time for all ages to enjoy a wholesome film together. It’s a great opportunity to connect, unwind, and share fellowship as a church family. Bring your friends and enjoy snacks, laughter, and a warm community atmosphere.
Street Evangelism
Every Month
Street Evangelism is a monthly outreach where we gather together in prayer before heading to High Street to share the good news of Jesus Christ. With our hearts prepared and our spirits united, we step out in faith, trusting God to guide each conversation and encounter.
1:1 Discipleship
Prayer Ministry
We offer 1:1 discipleship as a ministry, walking alongside each person on their spiritual journey. In these personal relationships, we share encouragement, study God’s Word together, and provide guidance for applying faith in everyday life. It’s a space to ask questions, grow in understanding, and experience God’s love and grace.
Highland Christian Café

Highland Christian Café is where we gather over coffee, tea, and biscuits, enjoy free Wi-Fi, and connect in fellowship. It’s a welcoming space to relax, build relationships, and experience God’s love in community.
Frequently Asked Questions
Learn About Church of God Nairn
Any questions about our beliefs can be asked directly to anyone on our Leadership Team, which is made up of pastors and elders.
It is our real desire to see everyone find a church home and BLEND into the body of Christ, to His praise and to His glory.
What do we emphasize?
Holy Scripture encourages us in I Corinthians 14:26 and in I Corinthians 12:18 to utilize the body of Christ for the edification of the church, and here, that is the focus.
Street Evangelism is emphasized frequently. A team of believers meets to pray earnestly before going out to High Street to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. God directs!
All believers are valued at our church, especially the young ones! For the first three Sundays of the month, the young ones are taught upstairs after the corporate worship music, and the last Sunday of the month is Family Service. Kids are prayed over weekly, and as Pastor, an invitation has been granted for me to continue to speak in all of the local public schools, which is absolutely thrilling!
How are conflicts resolved in Church of God Nairn?
Conflict even in church is inevitable. However, there is a sweet way to resolve conflict if both parties involved are willing. The Ministry of Reconciliation is alive and well at the Nairn Church of God.
Are women valued, and are women allowed to use their gifts?
Women are of course valued, and as Philip’s daughters prophesied in the book of Acts, we greatly appreciate the ladies in our church and allow them to teach and share from the pulpit as the Lord leads.
What kind of church is this?
Located in The Highlands of Scotland in the beautiful seaside town of Nairn, the Nairn Church of God emphasizes the development of each and every soul.
We are to blend into what God is doing.
We are, after all, fitted by God to do the work of God, and a healthy and translucent church – one that does not allow controlling evil spirits to get in to disrupt – helps keep the faith in this amazing community.
In a day when churches in the UK are shutting their doors, the Nairn Church of God is thriving and growing! The two anointed Assistant Pastors, Jennifer Teachey and Bernadette Salt, help the Elders and Deacons provide a truly safe place for everyone to be vulnerable, openhearted and transparent.
We are a multi-cultured church with several nations represented. Our expression of worship can be lively and vocal, as the Holy Spirit leads. We also practice and encourage open testimonies from the church body during our services.
With three services weekly (Wednesdays at 7pm, Saturdays at 6pm April–September, and Sundays at 11am), we try to strike the right balance to help individuals and families here in Scotland.
Being part of a worldwide major denomination (The Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee, USA) allows there to be a true chain of command, which provides additional safety and security to each church member. There is a local Pastor, a District Overseer, a National Overseer, a Field Director of Europe and a General Overseer. We are grateful to be under the umbrella of the Church of God.
Are there opportunities for the body to grow and develop spiritual gifts, or is it just pastor dominated?
At the Nairn Church of God, opportunity is purposely given by the Pastor to those who seek to go deeper with God, as they share the fruit of their ongoing initiate relationship with The Lord with others.
While we certainly believe in and practice Biblical Authority, we are not a pastor dominated church. We have fully qualified Assistant Pastors, experienced Elders and passionate Deacons and Deaconesses to help balance out our Leadership Team. And we have a pastor who loves to include and develop individuals for the glory of God! At the foot of the Cross, we all stand together!

What is our Declaration of Faith?
In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
In the Lord’s Supper and washing of the saints’ feet.
